COVINGTON, LA

The Architectural Team of PGAL Architects & Holden Associates Architects, with RCL Engineers designed the new St. Tammany Parish Criminal Justice Center in Covington, Louisiana. Aside from the technology and security requirements that are inherent in a courthouse facility, we recognized the opportunity for this building to become a visual landmark in the downtown fabric of Covington, and as such, the architecture had to respond to the urban context in which it resided. The 300,000 square foot justice center houses 12 courtrooms and chambers  for the 22nd Judicial District, along with the offices of the District Attorney,  Clerk of Court, Indigent Defender, Registrar of Voters’, Tax Assessor, Police Jury,  and Sheriff.
