bATON ROUGE, LA
The Kantrow family has been in the restaurant business off and on for two generations. Most Baton Rougeans would remember the Byronz sandwich shop on S. Eugene across from Baton Rouge High. Their gourmet sandwiches, crispy chips, and casual dining thrived for years. Now the second generation of Kantrows has taken over with a newly renovated restaurant named Bistro Byronz at the corner of St. Landry and Government Street. The Kantrow’s concept was to create a New York Bistro atmosphere with darkly stained trim and cabinetry complimented by the checker board mosaic tile floors and “subway” tile column cladding. On mild days, glass doors open onto the front sidewalk and side patio for outdoor seating.
